World compound feed output rises 2.9% to 1,440 million tonnes in 2025 — Alltech survey

Alltech's Agri‑Food Outlook 2026, based on its 15th annual survey, estimates global compound feed production reached 1,440 million metric tonnes in 2025, a 2.9% increase versus 2024 — roughly a 40.1 million tonne gain. The report draws on data gathered from 142 countries and 38,837 feed production plants collected at the end of 2025.

Most regions and production sectors recorded growth, which Alltech describes as part of a solid recovery phase for the agri‑food industry. The company notes the increase was uneven and increasingly regionalized, and that growth was driven less by livestock expansion than by structural shifts, productivity improvements and changes in how production is measured and recorded.

The survey compiles production and feed price information collected by Alltech’s global sales team with industry associations and official bodies. For feed mill managers and equipment buyers the headline figures underscore rising global volumes and the continued importance of productivity and measurement practices; the full report and an interactive world map are available at alltech.com/agri-food-outlook.
