Orffa forms Scientific Advisory Board with Leo den Hartog as chairman

Orffa has created a Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) and named Professor Leo den Hartog, emeritus professor of Sustainable Animal Nutrition at Wageningen University, as its chairman. The company says the move is intended to reinforce a science-led innovation strategy and deepen collaboration with leading academics and industry experts.

The SAB is planned to include recognized scientists from Europe, Asia‑Pacific and Latin America and will concentrate on Orffa’s strategic priorities: gut health, feed efficiency and mineral nutrition. Orffa says den Hartog will be involved from the outset in selecting and onboarding board members to help secure scientific independence, credibility and quality.

Orffa’s CEO Haiko Zuidhoff characterizes the board as a step to strengthen the company’s scientific foundation and innovation pipeline. Den Hartog stated he aims to assemble an independent international group to promote scientific exchange and support practical, science‑based solutions for livestock production.

The advisory group is expected to be formally constituted in the coming months. For feed mill operators, the SAB’s remit—particularly on feed efficiency and gut health—could shape Orffa’s future R&D and product priorities relevant to on‑farm feed performance and additive development.
