Dutch food group Nutreco said on Friday it is to buy U.S. fish feed company Nelson and Sons Inc. for 11 million euros ($16.12 million).

Nutreco, which produces animal and fish feed and is a major poultry processor, said the acquisition is in line with its strategy to expand into new markets.

Utah-based Nelson and Sons Inc., which makes Silver Cup fish feed, also has operations in Canada and Mexico. It has annual sales of about 17 million euros.
