Firefighters from the Mato Grosso Military Fire Brigade (4th Battalion) extinguished a blaze in a feed mill in the Alto da Glória neighborhood of Sinop in the early hours of June 12. Crews were called at about 4:17 a.m.; no staff were on site, and responders forced entry to reach the fire. Flames destroyed a truck, a motorcycle, disposable materials, plastic packaging, feed raw materials and a pile of firewood intended for the boiler.

Rapid firefighting prevented spread to other plant areas: the office, warehouse, production area with production machinery, the boiler and the kitchen were preserved. An on-site employee removed two trucks from the risk area before firefighters arrived. Municipal Environment and Sustainability provided two water tankers and about 80,000 liters of water were used. Fire crews remained to carry out rescaldo (overhaul) to eliminate remaining hot spots and reduce the risk of reignition. There were no injuries.
