Company Profile
Midwest General Repair and Fabrication (MWM), operating under the branding of Midwest Welding & Manufacturing, is a long-standing, family-owned fabricator and repair specialist based in Reeseville, Wisconsin. Founded in 1945 by three brothers as Jakel Company, the business began as a welding and blacksmith shop and gradually expanded into plumbing, heating, and eventually feed mill equipment. By the 1960s, the focus shifted toward agriculture, leading to the fabrication of feed and grain equipment. In 1969, Jakel built its first bulk feed body truck, a product line that has since grown to more than 800 units produced nationwide. In 2003, the Jakel family sold the business to Jon Schrock, who renamed it Midwest General Repair & Fabrication and continued serving the agricultural sector while maintaining the feed truck division. In 2022, the company was acquired by Jay “Zoom” Neuman, a grandson of the original founders, continuing its legacy with renewed leadership. Today, MWM specializes in design, fabrication, and repair of feed and grain equipment, while taking on custom welding and projects across construction, food processing, agronomy, ethanol, and power plants. The company emphasizes its commitment to supporting local farmers and smaller projects, underscoring a service ethos that blends traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing capabilities.
