StateLine Co-operative has a full time opening for a Feed Production Manager for our newly constructed Halfa Feed Mill.



OBJECTIVE:

Manages the overall operations of the location and provides supervision of personnel.

To oversee the manufacturing, inspection and deliver of feed and related products in a manner that will optimize StateLine's market share and savings, improve StateLine's efficiency, help achieve StateLine's mission and goals and result in outstanding customer service.

To direct, promote, and coordinate the location employees, facilities and equipment in conjunction with the Feed Department Manager that will serve customers, increase market share and savings, control expenses, to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the StateLine Cooperative to its customers and members.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITES include the following, Other duties may be assigned,

Operations

Supervises the personnel and daily operations of the location.

Responsible for all equipment, equipment maintenance, and record keeping. Also having qualified people working on and operating the equipment.

Responsible for the receiving and quality of grain and feed ingredients.

Maintain communication with supervisor concerning grain and feed quality and available inventory.

Responsible for the accurate billing of products sold and services provided.

Responsible for the implementation of all StateLine policies and procedures including but not limited to: Credit, Grain, Safety and Employment.

Communicate the company goals and results to the location staff.

Maintain physical conditions, housekeeping and appearance of the location within StateLine and/or OSHA guidelines.

Schedule and supervise employees.

Coordinate production with receiving and shipping.

Produce swine feeds that meet specifications.

Operate within FDA & OSHA guidelines.

Maintain productivity (labor, maintenance, supplies, utilities)

Maintain a safe and dependable fleet of equipment.

Oversee feed deliveries to patrons to ensure accuracy, timeliness and efficiency.

Schedule and receive ingredients that meet specifications and minimize demurrage and monitor quality specifications.

Ensure passing of all feed quality audits. (LOL, Cargill, Internal, etc.)

Ensure quality of products of precuts from ingredients to finished feed.

Implement procedures to increase production and lower costs.

Monitor maintenance of feed mills and rolling stock related to the feed division.

Responsible for the safety of employees and customers in the location and coordinate safety issues with the total company.

Enforce the credit policy.

Responsible to handle employee/customer concerns in the location and will work to resolve the issues within StateLine policies.

Will be responsible for expanded hours of operation for the location to best serve members. Will inform other locations and management of these expanded hours

Submit all required reports to the Feed Department Manager and General Manager.Assist with budgeting of personnel costs, expenses, and sales with the Feed Department Manager.

Responsible for annual location employee performance and wage reviews, and will make hire/fire/wage change recommendations to the Feed Department Manager.

Will continually develop location employee's skills, training and knowledge to promote growth in the employee's cooperative career. Implement training and cross-training of employees.

Will always strive to enhance the image, efficiency, customer service and growth of StateLine Cooperative.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Feed Department Manager or General Manager.



Operations and Customer Service

Correctly identify resources for assistance.

Keep resource manuals accessible and current.

Ensure no product problem result due to your recommendation or installation.

Attend all product updates and service training sessions.

Knowledge of prices for products and services.

Be aware at all times the cooperative's prices on commodities and services and review with your supervisor as necessary.

Maintaining current market share.

Assisting in developing competitive marketing strategies.

Is service oriented.

Tries to solve problems or answer questions that customers may have (either from personal knowledge, or by referring the customer to the correct person).

Works extended hours as requested by supervisor to ensure good customer service

Continually upgrades and demonstrates knowledge of the job.

Solicits new business and is responsible for maintaining a positive image of StateLine

Cooperative within the community.

Handles customer complaints smoothly.

Notifies Feed Department Manager of problems.

Solves the problem as soon as possible, either personally, or through communication with Feed Department Manager.

Refers larger problems to Feed Department Manager

Promotes StateLine Cooperative by maintaining a positive image and attitude.

Is always friendly, courteous and helpful,

Maintains clean, neat appearance.



General Duties

Maintains open communication with supervisor, departments and fellow employees.

Establishes personal performance goals and works toward these goals.

Upgrades training by learning on tile job, attending schools or seminars, and/or reading product and industry information as requested by supervisor,

Cooperates with other employees.

Performs duties as requested by supervisor and other management that are not covered in the document.

Abides by policies set forth in tile employee policy manual.



QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Two to four years related experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished ill written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficient at: Microsoft Excel and Word. Feed Office Pro and Feed Batch Pro. Oakland Computer System.

CERTIFICATES, LICENCES, REGISTRATIONS: HACCP Certification. Boiler Certification.
