Feed/Grain Manager - NC MN

Job Description:

Operations include complete manufacturing, the majority is bulk swine feed and will oversee the grain operations.

This position is responsible for feed operations including but not limited to sales, profitability, purchasing, inventory control, pricing, employees, and facilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the purchasing, pricing and sales of feed products and maintenance of inventories
* Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable and customer accounts
* Oversee day-to-day operations of the Feed Division, while working closely with Feed Location Managers
* Coordinate and oversee the marketing of all retail feed sales and services
* Resolve customer complaints quickly and fairly in accordance with company policies as needed
* Develop, communicate and enforce all feed production and delivery related rules and practices
* Communicate regularly with General Manager on plant activities, improvement opportunities, strategic planning, key business relationships and financial matters
* Responsible for the maintenance, repair, condition and appearance of facilities, equipment and rolling stock
* Keep department success as primary objective and maintain a team focus
* Build and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, feed industry partners and customers
* Develop and monitor sales programs that will result in increased market share
* Oversee the staffing, training and direction of employees
* Complete and maintain all required regulatory documentation
* Provide leadership to all employees within the feed division by establishing and communicating expectations and providing clear instructions
* Communicate the information necessary to employees to perform tasks according to their job requirements and maintain location efficiency
* Understand and ensure compliance with all transportation, environmental and feed production regulations and policies
* Attend appropriate leadership and management training and continuing education sessions
* Operate equipment and vehicles in responsible and safe manner
* Provide outstanding and courteous customer service
* Project a positive attitude and image to customers, business partners and employees at all times
* Observe and enforce all company policies and safety requirements including the credit policy
* Perform other duties and responsibilities as appropriate and assigned


* Graduation from an accredited related program. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.
* 5 years of management or feed mill experience
* Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
* Cooperative and/or agricultural background desirable
* Desire to serve farmers, livestock producers and others involved in the agriculture industry
