Cattle feed factory to open in Raysut today

23rd Apr, 2006: SALALAH — Ahmed bin Abdulnabi Macki, minister of national economy and deputy chairman of the Financial Affairs and Energy Resources Council, will preside over the opening ceremony of the animal fodder factory for livestock development at Raysut area today.

The National Company for Livestock Development (Al Wataniyah Fodder Factory) owns the new factory. The cost of the factory amounted to RO6 million.

Eng. Issa bin Ahmed Shamas, general manager, National Company for Livestock Development, stated that the factory was set up to support and develop the animal wealth at Dhofar Governorate.

He said the factory’s total production capacity of animal fodder amounting to 20 tonne /p/h was liable to be increased to 30 tonne/p/h. In a statement to ONA, Shamas said the factory comprised the main production lines, a line to produce the cattle feed, one line to produce poultry feed and a line to produce and pack the complementary feed.

He said the factory was equipped with 10 crop storing cell with total capacity 30,000 tonnes. The cell is well equipped with high-tech filters compatible with Omani and international environmental criteria.

Shamas indicated that the factory would make a full integration with the farmers by utilsing the agro waste and incorporate it in the fodder industry system after being sterilised.
