The Grain Pool says recent rain and the purchase of some feed lupins have eased Western Australia's stock feed shortage.

A fortnight ago the pool estimated it had only two weeks' supply left, the lowest since it began.

However, it says recent rain has eased demand, although farmers in the north are still paying high transport costs, as well as a higher price for the grain.

Trevor Lucas from the Grain Pool says an initial surge in demand has now slowed.

"There was a bit of a rush on the sales, but obviously since the rain the sales have slowed. However, there is still a bit of demand there given that the feed's obviously going to take a few weeks to materialise," he said.
