1st Aug, 2006: Bacolod City, Philippines - The Negros Occidental Hog Breeders' Multi-Purpose Cooperative recently inaugurated its feedmill at the Gensoli Farm in Brgy. Vista Alegre, Bacolod City, a press release from the group said.

The blessing, officiated by Fr. Edsel Lopez, S.D.B., was followed by the ceremonial run of the feed mixer.

Provincial veterinarian Renante Decena gave a message while Beth Tio of the Provincial Cooperative Office and Ed Pueblo of the Technological Livelihood and Development Center discussed the programs of their respective offices, the press release said.

The project aims to provide quality feeds to its members at a lower cost. Feeds constitute 80 percent of production cost and sourcing feeds from cooperative will guarantee savings for the raiser, it said.

Veterinary medicines are also available at reduced prices.

The cooperative encourages backyard and semi-commercial raisers in the province to join their group to avail of these benefits, the press release added.
