Animal health and nutrition company Novus International has inaugurated its first animal feed input plant in Brazil. The plant, located in Indaiatuba, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, is the company's eighth plant worldwide.

The 37,000 square foot facility is equipped with cutting-edge machinery, made in Brazil or imported from the US and Germany. The technology allows for complete automation of the manufacturing processes.

Production capacity
The plant has a monthly production capacity of 300 tonnes of antioxidants, mineral supplements, methionine, and organic acids. The two acre compound will focus on the creation of integrated animal health and nutrition solutions for the pork, beef, poultry, dairy and pet industries.

Thad Simons, the company's president and CEO said, "A portion of our growth strategy is to expand with countries that have access to raw materials, a concern for safety and environmental care. Brazil meets all of these requirements."

Global growth pace
Brazil was defined as one of the company's investment locations due in part to the country’s growth in the agriculture market. "Brazil is among the countries that will dictate the pace and global growth of the agriculture industry over the next decade" said Dr Giovanni Gasperoni, executive vice president of marketing and sales.

The US company altogether now has eight manufacturing plants in the USA, Mexico, Germany, China, and Brazil. These manufacturing facilities serve customers in more than 80 countries around the world.
