Business Unit: Supply Chain includes facilities and processes that operate to manufacture a finished product from raw material and deliver to the end-user. This business unit enhances competitive advantage, efficiency, innovation, quality and consistency.
Position Purpose: The operations manager in our animal feed plant is responsible for leading and organizing production per product demands. Reporting to the plant manager, you will be responsible for leading 22 hourly employees. Other responsibilities include, monthly inventory management, die tonnage reports, line efficiency programs, bag weight management, PIT team leadership, production sequencing, yield variance management, overall production compliance per FQMS standards. you may also be required to lead the safety programs at the facility, and the implementation of all Landolakes policy and enforcement.
Required (Basic) Experience & Education: 4 year degree in agriculture or business management related field. 2+ years of manufacturing management experience.
Required Competencies & Other Skills: Must demonstrate strong work ethic, with effective people and communication skills. The ability to organize, plan and multi task is essential, as are computer skills. Must be able to follow plant and company guidelines and meter discipline in a fair, balanced and consistent manner. Must embrace company diversity guidelines when hiring, placing and supervising operators.
Preferred Experience & Education: Feed Mill manufacturing experience is preferred.
Preferred Competencies & Other Skills: HACCP and Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus.
